Make a quick & easy coconut lime lip scrub with this DIY recipe
Are your lips feeling dry & flakey? No need to buy a lip scrub, save your money & keep your lips lusciously smooth with this easy coconut lime lip scrub recipe. Made with 4 ingredients including coconut sugar, coconut oil, coconut essence & lime essential oil, this lip scrub will remove flakey skin & keep your pucker moisturised even in the depths of winter.
- 2 tablespoons of coconut sugar (you can sub this with another fine sugar such as brown sugar or caster sugar)
- 1 tablespoon of liquid coconut oil, otherwise known as MCT oil (you can sub this with another oil such as almond, jojoba or olive. You can use solid coconut oil but it will go hard in colder weather so will make your lip scrub a bit harder to use. If you want to use solid coconut oil, melt it before mixing it in with the other ingredients)
- 8 drops coconut essence (you can find this in the baking aisle of the supermarket, you can also sub for another extract such as vanilla or you can leave out altogether)
- 3 drops lime essential oil
Combine all of the liquid ingredients together in a small bowl, then add in the sugar & mix well. Store in a small glass with a lid.
How To Use
Use whenever your lips are feeling chapped, dry or flaky. Just lightly massage onto your lips using gentle circular motions then remove using a washcloth.
Store in a cool, dry place with the lid sealed for up to 2 months. Avoid getting any water into the jar.
